PowerSync Technologies is proud to announce a strategic licensing agreement with CSIRO, Australia’s national science agency.
Under this agreement, PowerSync will license from CSIRO an advanced wholesale market pricing forecasting software model. This model will directly enhance PowerSync’s proprietary optimisation engine, delivering more accurate, forward-looking market predictions and unlocking greater value for our customers.
This agreement represents a significant step forward in the application of machine learning to energy market forecasting. It will enhance PowerSync’s in-market experience across a diverse portfolio of distributed energy resources (DERs), the resulting platform will enable faster, more intelligent bidding decisions across the National Electricity Market (NEM).
The integration of an advanced wholesale pricing focused algorithm into PowerSync’s forecasting stack allows for a more robust and statistically grounded approach to market price prediction. This, in turn, empowers PowerSync to optimise the dispatch of flexible load, battery storage, and other capacity assets with greater confidence — ensuring enhanced revenue certainty for customers participating in wholesale and FCAS markets.
"This licencing agreement with CSIRO is a major milestone in our journey to deliver data-driven optimisation at scale," said David Naismith, CEO of PowerSync Technologies."It strengthens our ability to lead the market with precision bidding and helps our customers capture the full value of their energy assets."
PowerSync is setting a new standard for market intelligence and decision support in Australia’s evolving energy landscape.
